**Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson End Their On-and-Off Relationship After Eight Years**

Chris Martin, the lead vocalist of Coldplay, and actress Dakota Johnson have officially ended their relationship after eight years of sporadic dating, according to a report by People magazine. The separation, confirmed on June 4, follows their last public appearance together in Malibu in mid-May, where they had been living since 2021.

The couple, aged 48 and 35 respectively, first began dating in 2017. They kept their relationship relatively low-key, only occasionally offering glimpses into their private lives. In January 2022, Martin surprised Johnson with a cameo during a Zoom call she was on to promote her film "Cha Cha Real Smooth." A few months prior, he dedicated a shout-out to her at a Coldplay concert in London. Despite their public displays, they mostly enjoyed a cozy home life away from the limelight. In a December 2021 interview with Elle UK, Johnson shared, "We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private. Most of the partying takes place inside my house."

Before his relationship with Johnson, Martin was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2014. They have two children together: 21-year-old Apple and 19-year-old Moses. Johnson had expressed deep affection for Martin's children in a 2024 interview with Bustle, saying, "I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart."

As for their professional lives, Johnson has a past of high-profile relationships, having dated actor Jordan Masterson and musician Matthew Hitt. Martin continues to find success with Coldplay, whose Music of the Spheres Tour recently topped the Top Tours chart in April, earning $67.4 million from shows in Asia and selling 502,000 tickets. Coldplay’s latest album, "Moon Music," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October.

Both Martin and Johnson's representatives have yet to comment on the breakup.
