### Yankees Overpower Red Sox in High-Scoring Game

The New York Yankees emerged victorious in their first clash of the season against the Boston Red Sox, securing a 9-6 win at Yankee Stadium. The game featured an early offensive surge by the Yankees and a milestone home run for a young Red Sox player.

Anthony Volpe kickstarted the Yankees' five-run first inning with a home run, creating momentum for the team early on. Unfortunately, Volpe's night ended prematurely after he was struck on the left elbow by an 88.2 mph pitch from Walker Buehler in the second inning. Despite concerns, X-rays and a CT scan revealed no serious injuries, as confirmed by Yankees manager Aaron Boone.

Aaron Judge continued to dominate, achieving his ninth game with three or more hits, which increased his major league-leading batting average to .397. Jazz Chisholm Jr. contributed significantly, racking up three hits, including a first-inning homer, four RBIs, and two stolen bases. Paul Goldschmidt also added to the offensive onslaught with a home run, helping the Yankees build a commanding lead of 7-0 after the second inning.

New York's offense was relentless, with every player in the starting lineup recording a hit. This victory marked the Yankees' 16th game over .500 for the season, bringing their record to 39-23. In contrast, the Red Sox struggled, falling to 30-35 and committing two errors to increase their league-high total to 57.

Highlighting a bright moment for Boston, Rafael Devers blasted his 29th career home run against the Yankees in the seventh inning. Marcelo Mayer, who debuted on May 24, hit his first major league home run with an impressive 410-foot solo shot to right-center in the fifth inning.

For the Yankees, Walker Buehler's first appearance on the Yankee Stadium mound since the Dodgers' World Series win last year was challenging, as he allowed seven runs (five earned) in just two innings. Devin Williams secured the win with his seventh save in eight opportunities.

Looking at the pitching matchups for the next game, Yankees' LHP Ryan Yarbrough (3-0) will face Red Sox's LHP Garrett Crochet (5-4) on Saturday night.
