Pop icon Britney Spears, aged 42, recently suffered an ankle injury during a visit to the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles this week. In an Instagram post on Thursday, May 2, Spears shared a video displaying her swollen ankle while sitting on a carpeted floor, admitting that she had twisted it "like an idiot" while attempting a leap in the living room.

Spears revealed that paramedics were called to her door and caused quite a scene, although she assured her followers that the injury, while "pretty bad," was just an unfortunate accident. The incident at the Chateau Marmont is reported to have involved a fight between Spears and Paul Richard Soliz, whom she was linked to following her split from ex-husband Sam Asghari in August 2023.

In a significant development, Spears and Asghari's divorce was officially finalized on Thursday, as court documents obtained by PEOPLE revealed that a judge with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County had signed off on the paperwork. The divorce settlement was amicable, with both parties recognizing the terms of their prenuptial agreement.

Under California law, Spears and Asghari will be legally declared single on December 2, as there is a waiting period of six months or more required. This news comes as Spears continues to assert her independence and move on from her previous legal battles.

In another recent settlement, Spears reached an agreement with her father, Jamie Spears, regarding legal fees after a lengthy two-and-a-half-year conservatorship battle. On April 25, the duo resolved the matter for an undisclosed sum in Los Angeles Superior Court.

As Britney Spears navigates these personal triumphs and challenges, her fans eagerly await her next artistic endeavors and show their unwavering support for her ongoing journey towards freedom and empowerment.
