In the search for a new General Manager, the Las Vegas Raiders have taken another step forward as they conducted second interviews with three potential candidates. According to Tashan Reed of TheAthletic.com, the Raiders have scheduled second interviews with former Chargers G.M. Tom Telesco, interim G.M. Champ Kelly, and Colts assistant G.M. Ed Dodds.

Notably, Telesco is the only candidate with prior experience as a General Manager. However, the Raiders are considering all options as they aim to find the perfect fit for their organization. Owner Mark Davis has expressed some reservations about pairing a rookie General Manager with a rookie head coach, which could be a factor in their decision-making process.

Champ Kelly, who served as the interim General Manager for the Raiders after the termination of Dave Ziegler on October 31st, is among the candidates for the permanent position. He previously assumed the role of assistant General Manager in 2022 and had also worked as the Bears' assistant director of player personnel.

Ed Dodds, the Colts' assistant General Manager, is also being given serious consideration. Dodds has held his current position since 2018 and boasts an extensive background in football operations. Interestingly, Dodds began his career as an intern with the Raiders from 2003 to 2006, demonstrating his familiarity with the organization. He then made his way to the Seahawks' front office, where he climbed through the ranks and gained valuable experience.

The second round of interviews with these three candidates indicates that the Raiders are actively narrowing down their choices for the General Manager role. With Telesco's experience, Kelly's familiarity with the team, and Dodds' impressive credentials, the decision will not be an easy one for the franchise.

The Raiders have already made one significant announcement regarding their coaching staff, removing the interim tag from Antonio Pierce's title and naming him as the head coach. Now, all eyes are on the General Manager position as the team seeks to build a cohesive and successful organization.

As the search continues, the Raiders remain committed to finding the right candidate who can lead the team to future success. The second interviews with Telesco, Kelly, and Dodds signify a crucial stage in the hiring process, and fans eagerly await the team's decision in the coming days or weeks.
