Late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel has fired back at NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers over his recent insinuations that Kimmel would be included in Jeffrey Epstein's client list. In a scathing monologue on Monday night, Kimmel addressed the comments made by Rodgers during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" last week.
Rodgers' allegations regarding Kimmel's potential involvement with Epstein drew a swift response from the talk show host, who denied ever having any connection to the disgraced financier or his activities. Kimmel took to Twitter to clarify that his name has never appeared in association with Epstein, and he even threatened to take legal action against Rodgers for his unfounded claims.
Kimmel attributed Rodgers' remarks to his personal frustration with Kimmel's criticisms of the quarterback's controversial opinions on vaccinations and COVID-19 medical matters. However, Kimmel emphasized that connecting someone to pedophilia is a serious matter and not to be taken lightly. The talk show host expressed concern that Rodgers' influential status could potentially jeopardize his and his family's safety due to the impact of such allegations.
After the incident, Pat McAfee, the host of the show on which Rodgers made the comments, issued an apology on behalf of the quarterback. He attempted to rationalize Rodgers' remarks as mere "trash talk" common on his show. Kimmel firmly rejected this explanation, stating that accusing someone of being a pedophile goes beyond opinion or casual banter.
Kimmel also took the opportunity to criticize Rodgers' perceived arrogance and self-importance, suggesting that the quarterback's success on the football field has inflated his ego. Kimmel mocked Rodgers' alleged belief that his athletic achievements somehow make him smarter than others, highlighting Rodgers' comments during the pandemic where he claimed to possess more knowledge on science than actual scientists.
The late-night host didn't stop there, highlighting Rodgers' academic background and questioning his expertise in other fields such as immunology. Kimmel joked about Rodgers attending community college, receiving a football scholarship to Cal, but ultimately never graduating. He also sarcastically pointed out that Rodgers' two "A" grades on his report card were only in the word "Aaron."
Kimmel expressed his desire for an apology from Rodgers, although he doubted it would actually happen. Meanwhile, Rodgers has chosen to postpone addressing the feud with Kimmel until his upcoming appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," scheduled for Tuesday.
It remains to be seen how Rodgers will attempt to rectify the situation and whether Kimmel will take any further action regarding the accusatory remarks made against him.
