Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones has been arrested on Monday on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge, as confirmed by jail records. The arrest took place at 6:03 p.m. ET by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, and Jones was then booked into the Duval County Jail.

Specifically, Jones is facing a first-degree misdemeanor charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm. His first court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Jones, who has been recovering from a right knee injury, has missed a total of six games this season, including the last four. Despite his limited playtime, Jones has managed to record five catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns in the three games he has played.

The arrest comes as a blow to both Jones and the Jaguars, adding a layer of uncertainty to his future with the team. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not released any additional information regarding the incident leading to the arrest.

As the situation develops further, it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will impact Jones' playing time and the team's overall plans for him moving forward. The Jaguars organization has yet to comment on the matter.
