Former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond has made the decision to transfer to the University of Texas to play SEC football in 2024. Bond cited a "business decision" as the primary reason for his transfer, influenced by Nick Saban's retirement. He believes that his NFL Draft stock will receive the best management at Texas.

In a phone interview with ESPN, Bond explained his reasoning behind choosing Texas, stating, "Just like the business world, you make the best decision for your company. My company right now is my draft stock. I feel like I'm putting myself in a position to increase that and have better draft stock."

Bond was particularly drawn to playing for head coach Steve Sarkisian and being able to team up with quarterback Quinn Ewers. Despite Sarkisian's previous connection with Alabama, Bond's time with the Crimson Tide began after Sarkisian had moved to Texas. Bond expressed excitement about playing with Ewers, describing him as a "great big-time pocket passer quarterback" who is expected to be a top draft pick in the upcoming year. Bond is confident in his abilities and believes that their partnership will be a successful one.

During the 2023 season, Bond led Alabama in receptions, recording 48 catches for 668 yards and 4 touchdowns. However, with the departure of both Bond and senior Jermaine Burton, the Crimson Tide will have to find new receivers to fill the void.

Bond's addition to the Texas receiving corps will greatly benefit Sarkisian and Ewers as they look to replace their top two wideouts. Xavier Worthy, who led the team in catches with 75 for 1,014 yards, and Adonai Mitchell, who scored 11 touchdowns on 55 catches for 845 yards, have both declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

While Alabama and Texas are not scheduled to meet in the regular season for 2024, Bond's transfer to the Longhorns adds excitement and potential to the team's offense. With his skills and determination, Bond aims to further improve his draft stock and contribute to the success of the Texas football program.
