Flowery Branch, GA - The Atlanta Falcons have made a significant move to reinforce their defensive line by acquiring defensive lineman Kentavius Street from the Philadelphia Eagles. In a trade announced on Monday night, the Falcons also received a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, while sending a 2024 sixth-round draft pick to the Eagles.

Street, who joined the Eagles as a free agent during the offseason, brings his talents to Atlanta after starting one game and appearing in eight overall for Philadelphia. The 6-foot-2, 287-pound veteran made an impact with four tackles in his limited playing time.

This marks Street's fifth season in the NFL, with his career starting when he was drafted in the fourth round by the San Francisco 49ers in 2018 out of North Carolina State. During his time with the 49ers, Street accumulated a forced fumble, three sacks, and 42 tackles in 35 game appearances, with four starts.

In 2022, Street signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he played in 17 games and contributed with a pass breakup, 3½ sacks, and 29 tackles. Now, he joins the Falcons in hopes of making a significant impact on their defensive front.

The addition of Street to the Falcons' roster comes at a crucial time, as the team recently revealed the season-ending injury to defensive lineman Grady Jarrett. Jarrett suffered a torn ACL in the Falcons' Week 8 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Arthur Smith confirmed the severity of Jarrett's injury on Monday afternoon, signaling the need for reinforcements in the defensive line.

With the 2023 NFL trade deadline fast approaching on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, the Falcons wasted no time in addressing their defensive needs by acquiring Street. As the team looks to make a push for a playoff spot, this trade demonstrates their commitment to fortifying their roster and remaining competitive.

Street's arrival in Atlanta brings both experience and versatility to the Falcons' defensive front. As they navigate the remainder of the season, the team hopes that Street's skills and presence will contribute to their success on the field.

As fans eagerly await the Falcons' next move before the trade deadline, the acquisition of Kentavius Street has undoubtedly created a buzz among supporters. Only time will tell how Street's presence will impact the Falcons' defense and their quest for victory in the remainder of the season.
