Philadelphia, PA - Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean has been diagnosed with a Lisfranc sprain, according to sources. The second-year player out of Georgia is expected to be placed on injured reserve, pending further medical opinions.

Dean, who was elevated to a starter's role this season and tasked with calling the defensive signals, suffered a separate foot injury in the season opener against the New England Patriots. As a result, he missed the next four games before returning in mid-October. The recent injury occurred during Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Since Dean's return in Week 6, the Philadelphia Eagles have been utilizing a three-linebacker rotation featuring Dean, Nicholas Morrow, and Zach Cunningham. With Dean's impending absence, the majority of the linebacker duties are expected to fall on Cunningham and Morrow.

Selected in the third round of the 2022 draft, Dean has appeared in 22 games for the Eagles. During his time on the field, he has accumulated 43 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a half-sack.

The nature of Dean's injury was initially reported by NFL Network. Further updates regarding his status and potential timetable for a return will be provided as more information becomes available.
