Broncos safety Kareem Jackson is currently appealing his four-game suspension after appealing officer Derrick Brooks scheduled a hearing for today, according to a report by Mark Maske of the Washington Post.
This appeal comes after Jackson was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct for the second time this season during Sunday's game against the Packers. Jackson was penalized for hitting Packers tight end Luke Musgrave in the head and neck area. Earlier in the season, Jackson was also ejected in Week 2 for a hit on Commanders tight end Logan Thomas.
In addition to his ejections, Jackson has also faced financial consequences for his actions on the field. The NFL has already fined him $89,670 for four unnecessary roughness penalties this season. If his four-game suspension is upheld, Jackson would further forfeit $558,889 in salary.
The Broncos will face a challenging lineup of opponents during Jackson's potential absence. They are scheduled to play against the Chiefs, Bills, Vikings, and Browns in the upcoming four games.
Jackson's hearing today will determine whether his suspension will be reduced or lifted altogether, allowing him to continue contributing to the Broncos' defensive efforts in the upcoming matches.
