In response to multiple misconduct complaints against actor Vincent Gallo, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has confirmed that they are conducting an investigation. The complaints arose during the filming of Gallo's latest film, "The Policeman," directed by Jordan Gertner and co-starring James Franco.

A spokesperson for SAG-AFTRA stated, "We are aware of these complaints and are investigating. We extensively engaged with production regarding the complaints and, while shooting has wrapped, we continue to monitor and investigate. We also reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful environment on set. Because our inquiry is ongoing, we cannot respond to specifics of the complaint."

The allegations involve sexual comments that Gallo allegedly made during the audition process for the film, which took place in November 2023. One actress, who read opposite Gallo for scenes depicting one of the victims of the Golden State killer Joseph James DeAngelo, claimed that the actor told her she needed to believe she would die if she didn't comply with his demands. Gallo's comments included explicit language and a power dynamic, leaving the actress feeling uncomfortable.

Another complainant stated that Gallo discussed performing explicit acts onscreen and insisted on finding an actress who would not object or complain about the content. These comments emphasized the actress's lack of choice, mirroring the lack of control experienced by victims in real-life situations.

The allegations against Gallo were first reported by Rolling Stone magazine. However, it is important to note that James Franco, who also stars in "The Policeman," is not under investigation in relation to the film. Sources confirm that Franco was on set for only a few days and is not implicated in any misconduct.

The investigation by SAG-AFTRA highlights the ongoing efforts within the industry to address and prevent harassment and misconduct. As the inquiry progresses, the guild remains committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all actors on set.

"The Policeman" revolves around the story of the notorious serial killer Joseph James DeAngelo, also known as the Golden State killer, who terrorized California residents for decades before finally being brought to justice in 2018. The film, directed by Jordan Gertner and featuring Vincent Gallo, has wrapped up production, but the investigation continues to monitor the allegations.
