Mexican-born actor Adan Canto, best known for his roles in "Designated Survivor" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past," has sadly passed away at the age of 42. His publicist, Jennifer Allen, confirmed his death on Monday, revealing that Canto had been fighting appendiceal cancer.

Canto, who was raised in Texas, had a diverse career in the entertainment industry. In addition to being an actor, he was also a talented singer and director. He made his American television debut in 2013 on the Fox drama series "The Following" and went on to play a variety of roles on both TV and the big screen.

Recently, Canto had gained popularity for his role in the hit Netflix show "Narcos." He was also starring in the Fox series "The Cleaning Lady," which was in the process of shooting its third season.

Upon hearing the tragic news, Kiefer Sutherland, Canto's co-star on "Designated Survivor," expressed his heartbreak. Sutherland took to social media to share his admiration for Canto's talent and his dedication to improving as an actor. He mentioned that Canto's loss would be deeply felt.

Another fellow actress who worked with Canto, Halle Berry, shared her thoughts and memories of him on Instagram. Berry had collaborated with Canto on "Agent Game" and also in her directorial debut film, "Bruised."

Adan Canto is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, as well as his two young children, Roman Alder and Eve Josephine. The entertainment industry mourns the loss of a talented and versatile actor who left an indelible mark on the screen. Rest in peace, Adan Canto.
