Matthew Perry, renowned for his role in the hit TV show "Friends," has been buried in a private and highly esteemed section of Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles. The actor's casket was placed within the walls of the Sanctuary of Treasured Love, a corridor reserved for beloved celebrities and artists, as reported by TMZ.
Situated behind gates, the Sanctuary of Treasured Love serves as the final resting place for other notable figures, including the late Michael Clarke Duncan, who co-starred alongside Perry in "The Whole Nine Yards." Both actors passed away at the age of 54, with Duncan succumbing to a heart attack in 2012 and Perry's cause of death still unknown, although reports suggest he experienced cardiac arrest.
Forest Lawn's Court of Remembrance, where Perry's burial site is located, is also the eternal home of numerous A-listers such as Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Sandra Dee, Andy Gibb, and Bette Davis.
Following Perry's funeral service, a substantial flower arrangement adorned his gravesite, but it has since been removed, leaving the area relatively bare, as TMZ observed. The intimate ceremony was attended by close friends and family, including Perry's "Friends" co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc. The actor's mother Suzanne Perry, father John Bennett Perry, and stepfather Keith Morrison were also present to bid farewell to their beloved son.
Prior to the funeral, Perry's mother and stepfather were seen at Forest Lawn making preparations for the burial, accompanied by surviving sisters and a cemetery employee.
Forest Lawn Memorial Park holds special significance for Perry as it is located opposite Warner Bros. Studios, where he spent years filming as his iconic character, Chandler Bing, on the set of "Friends."
Matthew Perry's untimely demise occurred on October 28 at his Los Angeles home. He was discovered unconscious in a jacuzzi, seemingly from an apparent drowning, by his assistant. Preliminary toxicology reports indicated the absence of fentanyl or meth in his body at the time of his death. However, the full autopsy results have been delayed as further testing is necessary to determine the exact cause of his passing.
