ABC has announced some exciting changes to its midseason schedule, including the addition of the highly acclaimed comedy series Only Murders in the Building. The network will be airing season 1 of the Hulu Original beginning in January, following Celebrity Jeopardy, which is moving to Tuesday nights from its original Wednesday slot.

The first three episodes of Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, will kick off at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, following a new semifinal episode of Celebrity Jeopardy! at 8.

ABC had been considering a primetime run for Only Murders in the Building this season due to the delay of the network's original scripted series caused by Hollywood's dual strikes. The show has already gained significant recognition and has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at next year's Emmy Awards.

Produced by ABC sibling 20th Television for Hulu, Only Murders in the Building has become the most-viewed Hulu Original comedy series to date. It comes as no surprise that ABC and 20th Television parent Disney have recently announced the acquisition of Comcast's stake, solidifying Disney's position as a full owner.

The midseason Tuesday lineup on ABC, starting from February 20, includes Will Trent, The Rookie, and The Good Doctor.

Not only ABC but other broadcast networks have also turned to their streaming siblings during the strike period for fresh scripted content. CBS, for example, aired Paramount+'s SEAL Team and Paramount+ Australia's NCIS: Sydney.

Only Murders in the Building, created and written by Martin and John Hoffman (known for their work on Grace & Frankie and Looking), follows three strangers with a shared obsession for true crime who find themselves entangled in a real-life murder mystery. After a gruesome death occurs in their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects foul play and utilizes their extensive knowledge of true crime to investigate. As they document the case through their own podcast, they uncover long-held secrets of the building, which may have far-reaching consequences. Tensions rise as they discover that one of them might be living amongst them as the killer, adding to the urgency to solve the case before it's too late.

The ten-episode first season of Only Murders in the Building is set to air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific time. Here is the confirmed schedule:

- Episodes 1-3: Tuesday, January 2, 9-11 p.m.
- Episodes 4-6: Tuesday, January 9, 9-11 p.m.
- Episodes 7-9: Tuesday, January 16, 9-11 p.m.
- Episode 10: Tuesday, January 23, 9-11 p.m.

Only Murders in the Building has been met with critical acclaim and has already been renewed for a fourth season. The series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Jamie Babbit, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. Produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, this comedy series is set to captivate audiences with its unique blend of humor, mystery, and a star-studded cast.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of Only Murders in the Building, and ABC's midseason schedule revamp ensures that viewers won't have to wait too long to indulge in this thrilling comedic murder mystery.
