ABC's hit comedy series, Abbott Elementary, has been given the green light for a fourth season. The announcement was made by the show's own Mr. Johnson, portrayed by William Stanford Davis, during Disney's Television Critics Association Press Tour.

The renewal comes after the highly-anticipated Season 3 premiere, which was delayed due to strikes last year. The episode not only addressed why the camera crews had missed the first half of the school year but also featured some notable guest stars.

During its second season, Abbott Elementary proved to be a success for ABC, garnering an impressive average rating of 3.56 among adults aged 18-49 in the 35-day viewing window. This marked the strongest season average for an ABC comedy since the 2019-2020 season, showcasing the series' growing popularity.

Adding to the show's acclaim, creator and star Quinta Brunson recently received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in Season 2. Brunson brilliantly portrays the character of Gregory Eddie, alongside fellow talented cast members Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, an Emmy Award winner herself, as Barbara Howard.

The success of Abbott Elementary can be credited to its incredible team of executive producers, including Brunson, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, as well as Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein.

Fans of the series can look forward to more laughs, heartwarming moments, and exciting storylines as Abbott Elementary prepares to bring Season 4 to audiences. With the show's impressive ratings and critical acclaim, it's clear that this comedy gem will continue to delight viewers for seasons to come.
