In preparation for the highly anticipated Cybertruck Delivery Event, Tesla has been busy conducting various tests and scaling up production at its Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. The event, scheduled to take place in less than two weeks, will showcase the groundbreaking electric pickup truck to Tesla investors, influencers, and Referral Program prize winners.

Due to the overwhelming demand for attendance, Tesla was forced to conduct a random drawing to select attendees for the event. The company's decision to hold the event at its Gigafactory in Austin, which also serves as its global headquarters, speaks volumes about the significance of the Cybertruck in Tesla's lineup.

One crucial aspect of the testing process is the rain test, also known as the H2O/water pressure test, which evaluates the vehicle's ability to resist water ingress in various scenarios, including heavy rain and off-road conditions. Tesla has designed a container-like chamber specifically for rain testing, complete with a water tank and multiple pumps, resembling a car wash system.

Images captured by Giga Texas observer Joe Tegtmeyer revealed a Cybertruck waiting outside the rain-making device, indicating that the test had been performed recently. Unfortunately, no footage of the vehicle entering the container was obtained. It is worth noting that Tesla has utilized this rain-making device since the beginning of this year to test the water resistance of its Model Y electric SUVs.

While the specifics of the rain test results remain elusive, it is crucial for the Cybertruck to demonstrate its ability to protect the cabin, frunk, and trunk from water ingress. With deliveries so close at hand, it is hoped that the Cybertruck successfully passed this vital test.

In addition to the rain test, an impressive display of the Cybertruck's capabilities was witnessed with a 360-degree turn on a wet surface. The video shared by Joe Tegtmeyer showcased the Cybertruck forming four perfect circles as it executed the maneuver, highlighting its remarkable 4-wheel steering feature. Although not as dramatic as the Rivian R1T Tank Turn, Tesla can certainly take pride in this aspect of the Cybertruck's design.

Meanwhile, production of the Cybertruck continues to be scaled up at Giga Texas. Despite the challenges mentioned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk during the company's Q3 2023 Earnings Call, where he projected a 12-18 month timeline to achieve significant production levels, progress is evident at the Gigafactory. Joe Tegtmeyer's aerial photos captured a large number of Cybetruck underbody castings and door panels, indicating the progress being made in the production process.

As the Cybertruck Delivery Event draws closer, anticipation builds for the official unveiling of Tesla's revolutionary electric pickup truck. With rain testing underway and production at Giga Texas in full swing, enthusiasts and investors eagerly await the official numbers and details that will be revealed during the event by Elon Musk himself.
