In a recent announcement, Dan Houser's new studio, Absurd Ventures, unveiled their highly anticipated debut projects. After leaving Rockstar Games in 2020, Houser, along with former Rockstar veterans Lazlow Jones and Michael Unsworth, founded Absurd Ventures in June 2023, aiming to create multimedia projects spanning video games, TV, film, and comics.

Absurd Ventures has now revealed their first creations, titled "American Caper" and "A Better Paradise." Described as "original storytelling universes," these projects will introduce audiences to captivating characters and immersive narratives across different media formats.

"American Caper" centers around the intertwining lives of two "normal, badly damaged" American families within a backdrop of "corrupt business," crime, and "inept" politicians. To kickstart this universe, Absurd Ventures has collaborated with renowned comic book artist Simon Bisley to produce a graphic novel.

On the other hand, "A Better Paradise" promises to be an "existential suspense thriller" set in the "near future." As the first endeavor within this universe, Absurd Ventures is currently in production of a 12-episode audio fiction series, amplifying the suspense and intrigue for audiences.

Excitement surrounds the launch of these projects, which are scheduled to be released in 2024. Dan Houser expressed his enthusiasm in a press release, stating, "We are excited to introduce these two universes, and their characters and lore. They represent our approach to storytelling and media. This is just the beginning, as we continue working on other iterations and expansions."

Aside from their initial projects, Absurd Ventures has a variety of endeavors in the works, including video games, animation, graphic novels, and more. With further information promised to be revealed in the coming months, fans can anticipate even more captivating franchises from Houser's innovative studio.

While some enthusiasts may have been hoping for a new video game project in the vein of GTA or Red Dead, Absurd Ventures' first releases are focused on comics and audio dramas. However, the world of "American Caper" may draw comparisons to the GTA franchise, fueling hopes that one day, Absurd Ventures may venture into the realm of open-world gaming within that universe.

Meanwhile, fans of Rockstar Games' popular Grand Theft Auto series eagerly await the release of the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI. Speculation suggests that the first official trailer for the highly anticipated game may debut next month, possibly at the upcoming Game Awards, further heightening excitement within the gaming community.

As Absurd Ventures sets off on its new creative journey, the industry awaits the unique stories and immersive experiences that Houser and his team will undoubtedly deliver across multiple media platforms.
