Texas Tech Fans Cause Disruption at Home Game Against Texas Longhorns

During Tuesday night's match between Texas Tech Red Raiders and Texas Longhorns, an incident occurred that led to disruption at the United Supermarkets Arena. Longhorns forward Brock Cunningham was ejected from the game after a hard check on Texas Tech guard Darrion Williams. Following this, Texas Tech fans threw objects, including water bottles, onto the court, leading to a technical foul being assessed against the team for their behavior.
Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland addressed the incident post-game, stating the fans' actions were unacceptable and had consequences for the team. The disruption prompted McCasland to address the spectators via the microphone, urging them to cease their behavior.
Texas coach Rodney Terry considered removing his players from the court in response to the disruption but praised the immediate actions taken by Coach McCasland to address the situation with the fans. Despite the incident, Texas Tech was unable to lessen the point difference and was down by more than 12 points following the disruption.
