Title: Steelers Release Starting Center Mason Cole, Saving $4.75 Million Against Cap
Pittsburgh announced on Friday the release of Mason Cole, their starting center for the past two seasons. Cole, 28, played all offensive snaps for the team in 2023, having been signed to a three-year deal in March 2022. The center was originally drafted by Arizona in the third round of the 2018 draft and later traded to Minnesota in 2021 after playing 46 games for the Cardinals. In his sole season with the Vikings, Cole appeared in 14 games with 7 starts before finishing his rookie contract.
The Steelers' decision to release Cole will result in a cap savings of $4.75 million for the team.
