Standing at 6-1 and weighing 230 pounds, Wilson is an experienced player with eight years in the league. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati before joining the Packers in October 2022, following his signing off the New Orleans Saints' practice squad.
Over the past two seasons, Wilson has been a valuable asset for Green Bay, excelling on special teams. He has led the Packers in special teams tackles, accumulating 11 tackles in 2023 and 13 tackles in 2022. Additionally, Wilson has contributed on defense, recording 24 tackles, including 11 solo tackles, a sack, and a tackle for a loss.
In the postseason, Wilson showcased his versatility, tallying five tackles on defense, including four solo tackles, while also making a tackle on special teams in two playoff games for the Packers.
Wilson's NFL journey began in 2017 when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings. Over five seasons, he played for the Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, and Houston Texans. In his tenure, he appeared in 78 regular-season games, starting in 27 of them. During this period, Wilson racked up 254 tackles, including 136 solo tackles, eight sacks, four interceptions, and nine passes defensed. He also recorded a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, 26 special teams tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a blocked punt, and a blocked extra point.
Adding to his impressive resume, Wilson has made four postseason appearances, starting in two of those games. He contributed with 13 tackles, including nine solo tackles, a QB hit, and a special teams tackle.
With Wilson's re-signing, the Packers have secured a reliable linebacker who consistently makes an impact on special teams and contributes on defense. As they look ahead to the 2024 season, Green Bay aims to build upon their recent success, and Wilson's presence on the field will undoubtedly be a valuable asset.
