Former NFL player and assistant coach Chad Morton, known for his roles as a running back and return specialist, brings an impressive 24 seasons of NFL experience to the football field. Morton was drafted by the Saints in 2000 and had a successful career spanning seven seasons with the Saints, Jets, Commanders, and Giants.
During his playing career, Morton showcased his skills by rushing for 382 yards, catching 48 passes for 419 yards and one touchdown, and making notable returns on punt and kickoff plays. His exceptional performance saw him set NFL records for rookie playoff receptions and longest overtime kickoff return for a touchdown.
Transitioning to coaching, Morton spent 15 seasons as an NFL assistant coach, working with teams such as the Packers and Seahawks. He contributed to a Super Bowl win with the Packers in 2010 and held various coaching roles, including special teams assistant and running backs coach.
In his recent role with the Seattle Seahawks, Morton worked closely with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Following Waldron's move to the Chicago Bears, Morton brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to his new coaching endeavors, continuing the legacy of success that runs in his family, as the younger brother of former NFL receiver Johnnie Morton.
