In a recent turn of events, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has categorically denied a report from the NFL Network that claimed he had a "very heated conversation" with head coach Robert Saleh at the NFL owners' meetings in Orlando this week.

Taking to social media platform X on Thursday, Johnson dismissed the allegations, calling them "absolutely false" and criticizing the NFL Network for spreading irresponsible reports. He urged everyone to disregard such claims.

The controversy began circulating on Wednesday when NFL Network host Colleen Wolfe mentioned the alleged interaction on the podcast "Around the NFL." However, Wolfe later issued a statement on X, clarifying that she was not present at the Annual Meeting and had learned about the exchange from someone who was in attendance. She also apologized to the Jets organization for the unnecessary distraction during a crucial part of their offseason.

During the podcast, Wolfe had described the discussion as animated, stating that it reached a point where it became awkward. However, she emphasized that she wouldn't classify it as an argument, but rather a heated discussion. The topics of the conversation remain unknown.

Robert Saleh, who is entering his fourth season as the Jets' head coach, has had a mixed performance with the team, holding an 18-33 record during his tenure. Last season's 7-10 campaign was seen as a rebuilding phase after quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury early on.

Despite the team's performance, Johnson expressed his faith in Saleh's leadership, affirming in December that he intended to keep him as head coach. Johnson praised the positive changes in team culture and highlighted the improvement in the defense, while acknowledging the need for a few more offensive pieces.

As the NFL owners' meetings continue, the focus will now shift away from the alleged dispute between Johnson and Saleh to other pressing matters in the league. It remains to be seen how the Jets will approach the upcoming season and whether they can fulfill Johnson's expectations of progress.

In the midst of speculation and conflicting accounts, the truth behind the alleged heated exchange between Johnson and Saleh remains uncertain. For now, the Jets organization will be looking to put this distraction behind them and shift their focus towards building a stronger team for the upcoming season.
