In an official announcement, the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles confirmed the completion of a trade deal involving edge rusher Haason Reddick. The deal, which had been widely reported last Friday, saw Reddick make his way to the Jets in exchange for a conditional 2026 draft pick.

Details of the deal reveal that the Jets will send the Eagles a draft pick, which will be determined based on Reddick's performance during the current season. If Reddick manages to play 67.5% of the snaps and amasses a minimum of 10 sacks, the Eagles will be entitled to a second-round pick. However, if Reddick falls short of these benchmarks, the Eagles will receive a third-round pick instead.

Reddick's desire for a new contract with the Eagles prompted the team to grant him permission to seek a trade to another team. The Jets now assume the responsibility of negotiating a new deal for the talented edge rusher, as reports from last week suggests that they are likely to pursue such an agreement.

During his tenure with the Eagles, Reddick showcased his defensive skills, accumulating an impressive 27 regular season sacks and 3.5 playoff sacks over two seasons. With his arrival, Reddick will join the Jets' existing roster of edge options, which includes Jermaine Johnson, John Franklin-Myers, 2023 first-round pick Will McDonald, and Micheal Clemons.

As the Jets aim to bolster their defense, the addition of Haason Reddick brings a formidable presence to their edge rushing unit. This trade opens up new opportunities for Reddick to continue his successful NFL career in the Big Apple, while the Eagles look forward to utilizing the acquired draft pick to strengthen their roster in the years to come.
