In another boost to their draft prospects, the Green Bay Packers have been awarded three compensatory picks for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. The additional selections come in the fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds, bringing the Packers' total picks to 11 for the draft at the end of next month.

These compensatory picks were granted to the Packers due to net losses in free agency from the previous year. This marks a significant milestone for Green Bay, as they have now accumulated a total of 52 compensatory draft picks since their introduction in 1994. They are currently ranked as the third team with the most compensatory picks in the league, trailing only the Baltimore Ravens with 56 and the Dallas Cowboys with 54.

The newly awarded compensatory selections for the Packers are as follows: No. 168 overall in the fifth round, No. 219 in the sixth round, and No. 255 in the seventh round. With these additional picks, the Packers will have the opportunity to select twice in four different rounds, namely the second, third, sixth, and seventh.

It's worth noting that Green Bay's extra second- and third-round picks were obtained through trades with the New York Jets for Aaron Rodgers and the Buffalo Bills for Rasul Douglas, respectively. As a result, the Packers will still possess one pick each in the first, fourth, and fifth rounds of the draft.

The league's announcement on Friday included a total of 34 compensatory picks. Out of these, 32 were awarded based on teams' net losses in free agency, while the remaining two were special compensatory selections linked to the minority head coach/primary executive amendment to the 2020 collective bargaining agreement.

With an increased arsenal of draft picks, including their No. 25 overall selection in the first round, the Green Bay Packers are well-positioned to make strategic moves and bolster their roster for the upcoming season. The 2024 NFL Draft promises to be an exciting opportunity for the Packers to secure talented players and strengthen their team further.
