Brazilian MMA fighter Alex Pereira has shown eagerness to not disappoint his fans by potentially competing in two major UFC events back-to-back. Initially expected to headline UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro against Jamahal Hill, Pereira's bout was rescheduled as the main event of UFC 300 on April 13. Despite the change in scheduling, Pereira remains open to participating in both cards, including the May 4 event in Brazil.

Pereira had expressed interest in breaking Ronda Rousey’s record for the shortest championship turnaround, which currently stands at two title defenses within 56 days. The fighter affirmed his desire to fight at UFC 301 in Brazil, emphasizing that the UFC values seeing him in the octagon and highlighting the significance of headlining a historic pay-per-view event.

Acknowledging that the timeline from UFC 301 to UFC 300 would provide him with three weeks less to prepare, Pereira noted that headlining UFC 300 would be a memorable experience and opportunity he would not want to miss. He expressed contentment with the upcoming match-up against Hill, noting the challenge it poses but affirming his confidence and dedication to training diligently.

Hill, the current 205-pound titleholder, secured the championship with a decision victory over Pereira's friend Glover Teixeira in Brazil before an injury halted his fight appearances. Pereira, known as "Poatan," seized the vacant title with a knockout victory over Jiri Prochazka, setting the stage for an exciting showdown between him and Hill.

As Pereira eagerly anticipates his upcoming fights, his commitment to defending his belt and showcasing his skills in two back-to-back UFC events demonstrate his determination to make a mark in the MMA world.
