Pueblo, Colorado - The Pueblo Fire Department, alongside 12 other agencies, is currently battling a wildfire on the north side of Pueblo. The fire, estimated to be around 52 acres in size, started around 10:30 a.m. on Friday near the intersection of Jerry Murphy Road and Vision Hills Parkway.

As a result of the fire, evacuations have been ordered for approximately 25 homes located half a mile north of 1945 Overton Road. The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office has set up a reception center at 1650 Cooper Place for those affected. Small pets can be taken to the Pueblo County Parks Office, while large animals can be taken to Liberty Landing Stables in Pueblo West or the 4 Bar S Gathering as alternative locations.

The wildfire has also led to road closures in the vicinity. North and southbound Jerry Murphy/Overton Roads are currently closed from Bluestem Boulevard to Pinion Road, and east and westbound Vision Hills Parkway is closed from Jerry Murphy Road to Castor Drive.

To combat the fire, a type 6 mutual aid call was made, and multiple brush trucks from various locations across the county have been deployed. Additionally, air resources are assisting in the firefighting efforts. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
