### New Report Reveals Trump's Role in Limiting Kavanaugh Investigation

A recent report reveals that the Trump administration significantly restricted a comprehensive FBI investigation into grave allegations against Brett Kavanaugh during his highly controversial Supreme Court confirmation in 2018. The investigation, conducted by Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, uncovered that both the Trump White House and the FBI misled the public and the Senate concerning the thoroughness of the probe into the allegations.

Brett Kavanaugh faced serious accusations of sexual assault from two women—Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez. Ford, a professor, claimed that Kavanaugh had assaulted her while they were in high school. Ramirez, a classmate at Yale, alleged that Kavanaugh had exposed himself during a drunken dormitory party. Kavanaugh denied both allegations vehemently.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, after Ford's public testimony, suggested a supplemental FBI background check before proceeding with Kavanaugh's full Senate confirmation vote. However, the new report accuses the Trump administration of ensuring that this investigation was neither thorough nor sincere, calling it a "sham" investigation aimed at providing political cover for Senate Republicans.

Senator Whitehouse, who embarked on a six-year investigation into the FBI's handling of the case, reported significant hindrances, including executive branch delays and incomplete answers to basic queries. He asserted his determination to uncover the truth, stating, "I pledged to Christine Blasey Ford that I'd keep digging... and not give up or move on."

According to the findings, the FBI's investigation consisted of merely a "handful" of interviews and neglected significant potential sources. Notably, the FBI did not interview Kavanaugh, Ford, or other key witnesses who volunteered to provide important information. Ford's attorney persistently contacted the FBI, requesting an interview with Ford, but was repeatedly ignored.

Ramirez's lawyer offered the FBI a list of 20 additional witnesses who might support her claims, yet these individuals were not interviewed. A separate incident reported by Max Stier, a former Yale classmate of Kavanaugh, was also disregarded. Stier claimed to have witnessed Kavanaugh with his pants down at a party, an incident that mirrored Ramirez's allegations.

In light of the report, attorneys for Ford, Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, issued a statement praising Ford's bravery and condemning the actions of the Trump administration and the FBI for "conspiring to silence those who offered important evidence."

The report also disclosed that the FBI neglected to act on numerous tips received through its tip line, instead forwarding this information directly to the White House. The revelations raise significant concerns about the integrity of the investigative process and the political motivations behind Kavanaugh's confirmation.
