Ukrainian Drones Target Russian Aircraft in Yekaterinodar Airfield

Russian aircraft at the Yekaterinodar Airfield in the city of Yeysk were reportedly hit by drones belonging to the Ukrainian military intelligence on April 5. Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), revealed that a total of seven Russian aircraft were damaged in the attack.
According to an insider at Ukrainska Pravda, more details have emerged regarding the drone strike on the military airfield in Yeysk. It has been reported that Ukrainian UAVs carried out the attack on April 5, causing damage to seven Russian aircraft. Among the affected jets were four Su-30SM multirole fighters, two military transport aircraft, and a BE-200 amphibious aircraft. Additionally, the attack resulted in the destruction of the airport's diesel substation.
The airfield's security was being overseen by forces from the 726th Training Center of the 51st Division of the Russian Air Defense Forces. In an attempt to repel the attack, they deployed a Pantsir-S missile system and guns. However, their defensive measures proved unsuccessful as five Ukrainian drones managed to penetrate their defenses and disable their attempts to deploy electronic warfare systems.
In a related note, on the night of April 5, Ukrainian drones also targeted military airfields in the Rostov, Saratov, and Krasnodar regions of the aggressor country.
The incident further escalates tensions between Ukraine and Russia, adding to the ongoing conflict between the two nations. Russian authorities are expected to respond to this attack as tensions continue to rise in the region.
