**Ukraine Claims Major Strike on Russian Bombers Amid Rising Tensions**

Ukraine has announced a significant blow to Russian military capabilities, stating that over 40 Russian bomber planes have been hit in a wide-scale drone attack. The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) reported that numerous "enemy strategic bombers are burning en masse," as part of a large-scale operation aiming to decimate Russia's bomber fleet.

Reports from Russian media confirm the attacks in regions including Murmansk and Irkutsk, though they also claim that air defenses are actively responding. Footage posted by the Irkutsk Governor Igor Kobzev shows the aftermath of a drone strike on a military unit in Sredniy, marking what he said was the first such attack in the area.

This escalated military activity comes just before another round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, scheduled to take place in Istanbul. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a delegation would head to Turkey with the goal of achieving a "complete and unconditional ceasefire." Simultaneously, Russian media reports that a Russian delegation is also on its way to Turkey for the discussions.

The incident represents one of the most daring attacks on Russian aviation to date, with the SBU stating that bombers at the Belaya airbase in Siberia and Olenya airbase near Murmansk were targeted. This declaration is accompanied by dramatic video evidence showing drones striking the Belaya airbase, causing explosions and smoke.

In a related development, Ukrainian officials reported that the country faced a massive assault involving 472 drones and seven ballistic and cruise missiles, in what appears to be one of the largest Russian drone attacks thus far. Despite the scale, Ukraine claims to have neutralized 385 aerial threats.
