**Susie Wiles Emerges as Leading Candidate for Trump’s Chief of Staff**
Susie Wiles, an experienced political strategist who played a crucial role in President-elect Trump's campaign, is rumored to be in line for a top position in the new administration. Sources within Trump's transition team and those familiar with his campaign confirmed to Fox News that Wiles is the apparent frontrunner for the role of White House chief of staff, a position responsible for overseeing the Executive Office of the President.
During his victory celebration in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday night, Trump expressed his deep gratitude to Wiles for her significant contributions throughout the campaign. Calling her up to the stage, he said, “Let me also express my tremendous appreciation for Susie [Wiles] and Chris [LaCivita], the job you did,” before adding, “Susie likes to stay sort of in the back, let me tell you. The ice baby. We call her the ice baby. Susie likes to stay in the background. She's not in the background. Thank you, Susie.”
NBC News also reported that Wiles is seen as the primary contender for the chief of staff role. Two sources in Trump's political sphere did not discount Fox News’ report, further fueling speculation about her likely appointment.
Wiles brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked as a campaign scheduler for former President Reagan during his 1980 presidential bid. Over the decades, she has managed numerous campaigns, including former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr.'s presidential run and Florida Sen. Rick Scott's Senate campaign. Wiles has been instrumental in Trump’s successes in Florida during both the 2016 and 2020 elections, managing his campaigns in the Sunshine State. Between presidential cycles, she also assisted Ron DeSantis with his successful 2018 bid for governor.
Currently, Wiles serves as a senior adviser to Trump and is the campaign co-chair alongside Chris LaCivita. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had previously been considered a potential candidate for the chief of staff role, but he made it clear on "The Guy Benson Show" that he would not take the position if offered, saying, “People always ask if I'm going to be chief of staff - no, I'm not going to be... that's a no.”
With her extensive background and close working relationship with Trump, Wiles appears poised to take on one of the most critical roles in the upcoming administration.
