In a swift resolution to a tense situation, an Amber Alert that was issued early Wednesday morning for a toddler who was abducted from West Covina has been canceled after authorities located the boy unharmed and arrested the suspect. The alert was activated when California Highway Patrol officials announced they were on the lookout for 46-year-old Wesley Williams, who had allegedly taken his 1-year-old son during an argument with his girlfriend and fled the area.

According to a spokesperson from the West Covina Police Department, Williams was last seen driving a Toyota Tacoma near North Grand Avenue in West Covina around 9 p.m. on Monday. Following intensive efforts by law enforcement, patrol officers spotted Williams and the child in West Covina at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Taking immediate action, officers apprehended the suspect, ensuring the safety of the child.

Officer Tibbetts confirmed that the child was found unharmed and that Williams was taken into custody. The arrest details and specific nature of the initial altercation between Williams and his girlfriend were not disclosed at this time.
