A large-scale manhunt is underway in Texas for Seth Altman, who is accused of shooting Police Chief Rex Plant. Local law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, are leading the investigation to locate the 33-year-old suspect.
According to law enforcement reports, the incident occurred late Thursday night when Chief Plant, accompanied by another officer, was serving an arrest warrant related to a burglary. During the attempt to serve the warrant, Altman reportedly fled through the back door and opened fire, resulting in Chief Plant being struck.
Altman, described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 220 pounds, was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of attempted capital murder.
