In a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, U.S. Marshals are leading the search for two potentially dangerous suspects in the Leesburg area of Harrison County, Kentucky. The fugitives have been identified as 43-year-old Nathan Ginter and 32-year-old Riley Pearson, both hailing from South Carolina.
According to Georgetown Police, Ginter is currently wanted in South Carolina on charges including abuse of a child and failure to appear in court. Last week, he was convicted of unlawful conduct toward a child for chronic physical abuse of his young daughter. After failing to appear in court for his trial, U.S. Marshals have been diligently working to locate him. Ginter is believed to be armed and poses a potential threat to public safety.
Police suspect that Pearson is accompanying Ginter and assisting him in evading law enforcement. The owner of Hidden Lake Farm Campground in Harrison County, Marlon Stewart, revealed that the pair had been camping there for several weeks, paying in cash and initially appearing friendly. However, their true nature came to light when U.S. Marshals paid a visit on Monday night. Despite a failed operation to apprehend them on Tuesday morning, authorities remain committed to apprehending the fugitives.
Georgetown police reported a visual sighting of Ginter this afternoon, intensifying the ongoing search. To aid in their efforts, U.S. Marshals are leading a task force comprised of several agencies, including Kentucky State Police, Georgetown Police, Lexington Police, Paris Police, and Cynthiana Police.
As the manhunt unfolds, Kentucky State Police are requesting any individuals who spotted Ginter or Pearson to promptly contact them at 859-428-1212. They are advising residents in the area to ensure the security of their homes and vehicles by locking them, and if possible, to remain indoors.
This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available. The collective efforts of law enforcement agencies continue to bring them closer to locating and apprehending the two potentially dangerous fugitives.
