**Will Trent Series Expands Stellar Cast with New Entrants**
Based on Karin Slaughter's acclaimed "Will Trent" series, the television adaptation continues to gain momentum with new intriguing characters and top-tier talent. Headlining the series is Special Agent Will Trent, portrayed by Ramon Rodriguez, who has turned his traumatic upbringing in Atlanta's overwhelmed foster care system into a drive for justice. Now with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Trent boasts the highest clearance rate, making him a cornerstone of the bureau.
Adding to the dynamic ensemble, Gina Rodriguez has joined the cast as Marion Alba, a new Assistant District Attorney in Atlanta. Alba, described as charismatic and confident, initially clashes with Trent, but they soon find themselves partnering up to tackle a crime linked to the city's gang landscape. This partnership adds an element of surprise and potential romance to the storyline, especially since Trent has had a long, tumultuous relationship with another character, Angie, played by Erika Christensen.
The tension rises further with the introduction of Dr. Seth McDale, brought to life by Foley. McDale is the head of emergency medicine at a local hospital and emerges as Angie's new romantic interest, complicating her historical connection with Trent.
The series is enriched by performances from Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner, Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, and Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood. The creative team behind the show includes executive producers Liz Heldens, Daniel Thomsen, Karin Slaughter, Oly Obst, Howard Deutch, Ellen Marie Blum, and Ramón Rodriguez. Heldens and Thomsen also serve as co-showrunners for this 20th Television production.
As the "Will Trent" series continues to develop, fans can anticipate intense drama, complex characters, and riveting crime-solving adventures.
