In a shocking incident on Friday morning, a small plane crashed in Arvada, resulting in injuries to two adults and two juveniles. The Arvada Police Department swiftly responded to the scene, located at the intersection of Oberon and Carr, following reports of the crash around 9:30 a.m.

A photograph shared by the police department revealed the wreckage of a small fixed-wing aircraft in the front yard of a residential property. Firefighters were seen working diligently to extinguish the flames, spraying down the debris with a firehose.

Arvada Fire Department Deputy Chief Matt Osier provided updates on the situation, stating that four individuals were transported to local hospitals with varying injuries. However, it remains unclear whether they were passengers aboard the aircraft or bystanders caught in the unfortunate event.

Karen Morfitt, the CBS News Colorado reporter on the scene, painted a vivid picture of the aftermath. She described a trail of debris scattered near the crash site along Oberon, recounting how neighbors heard the impact from several blocks away. One eyewitness, who was watering her plants, witnessed the tragic moment when the plane clipped a tree, plummeted to the ground, flipped, and caught fire in a neighbor's driveway. Disturbingly, the sound emitted by the engine led her to compare it to a strange-sounding motorcycle.

Another resident, Bob, living just two houses away, revealed that he heard a loud "boom" before rushing outside. Despite initially seeing nothing, his wife claimed to have witnessed a plane passing through. Bob could only see billowing smoke and was unsure if the plane had collided with a house or not.

The crash has left the community in shock and concern for the wellbeing of those involved. The plane's intended destination or origin, whether it was heading to or coming from the nearby Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, remains unknown. Furthermore, a red pickup truck was seen in the image, showing damage to the front and side, as well as a flat tire.

Deputy Chief Osier emphasized the need for hazmat crews to address fuel-related concerns, given the presence of an aircraft. The scene is currently being secured for investigators from both the Arvada Fire Department and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to conduct a thorough examination into the circumstances leading up to the crash.

As a result, Carr Street has been closed to traffic, and the public is urged to avoid the area during the ongoing investigation and cleanup efforts. Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the crash, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
