In a tragic incident near a mosque in Oman's Wadi Al-Kabir region, at least six people have lost their lives in a shooting, according to the Royal Oman Police. The attack occurred on Monday evening during Ashura, which is an important day for Shi'ite Muslims.

The ministry also disclosed that around 30 Pakistani nationals were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment in local hospitals. In response, the ministry strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a "dastardly terrorist attack," while expressing gratitude to the Omani government for decisive action against the attackers.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep sadness over the incident, extending heartfelt condolences to the victims' families. He has instructed the Pakistan Embassy in Muscat to provide all possible assistance to the injured and personally visit the hospitals.

India's embassy in Muscat also reported the death of one Indian citizen in the shooting, with another individual sustaining injuries. The US embassy in Muscat has issued a security alert for its citizens, advising them to remain vigilant, monitor local news, and follow the directions of local authorities.

The Royal Oman Police have confirmed that military and security procedures have been concluded at the scene. An ongoing investigation is underway to determine the motives behind the attack and to ensure the safety of the community.
