In a harrowing incident at a Kroger store in Colerain Township, two suspects were shot and subsequently taken to the hospital, as reported by Colerain Township Police Public Information Officer Jim Love. The shooting occurred on Wednesday, with law enforcement responding to the reported incident a few minutes before 4 p.m.

According to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Crime Scene Unit, one of the suspects is currently in "serious condition." It remains unclear whether the person shot by an officer is one of the two individuals who were transported to the hospital.

As details continue to emerge, a Kroger employee who witnessed the incident recounted seeing a man armed with a gun inside the store. Multiple gunshots were heard, creating a scene of panic and chaos.

PIO Love shared that officers pursued a suspect within the store before the action spilled outside, culminating in a foot chase. Fortunately, officers were able to apprehend the individual, although it remains uncertain whether this person is the one who suffered gunshot wounds. It is worth noting that no officers were injured during the incident.

PIO Love reassured the public that the situation is now under control, urging people to avoid the area as law enforcement authorities carry out their investigation into the shooting. As the investigation unfolds, authorities will strive to determine the motivation behind the incident and gather necessary evidence.

The incident has understandably rattled the community, reminding us of the ongoing challenges and risks faced by law enforcement officers in maintaining public safety. In the days to come, further updates regarding the suspects, their identities, and any potential charges they may face will be provided by authorities.
