### Beloved Actor Jonathan Joss Fatally Shot in San Antonio
Jonathan Joss, renowned for his roles as John Redcorn on "King of the Hill" and Chief Ken Hotate in "Parks and Recreation," was shot and killed on Sunday in San Antonio, according to his spouse, Tristan Kern de Gonzales. Joss, 59, was checking the mail at the site of his burned-down home when the tragic incident occurred.
The San Antonio Police Department reported that they responded to a call regarding a shooting in the southern part of the city. Upon arrival, officers found Joss lying on the roadway and attempted to perform lifesaving measures. Tragically, he was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities detained 56-year-old Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez in connection with the shooting. Ceja Alvarez was arrested and charged with murder on Sunday evening. As of Tuesday morning, he remained in custody without having been assigned an attorney, as per records from the Bexar County district clerk's office.
Despite online speculations labeling the incident as a hate crime, the police have stated there is no evidence to support that claim. However, Kern de Gonzales noted that he and Joss had endured two years of threats and homophobic harassment, and he witnessed the shooter shouting homophobic slurs before firing the gun.
Earlier this year, Joss had revealed to the local TV station KSAT that his childhood home had been vandalized, leading to a devastating fire that claimed the lives of the couple's three dogs. The suspect, identified as a neighbor of Joss, had been involved in previous disputes with the actor, according to local media sources.
Over an illustrious career, Joss, who was of White Mountain Apache and Comanche descent, brought numerous Native American characters to life across various media platforms, including film, TV, and video games. His notable appearances included roles in "Ray Donovan," "Tulsa King," "Walker, Texas Ranger," and voice work in popular video games such as "Wasteland 3," "Cyberpunk 2077," and "Red Dead Redemption."
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Kern de Gonzales expressed his grief, revealing that they had recently married and were planning their future together. The news of Joss's death has left a void in the hearts of his fans and the entertainment community at large.
