### Reformist Candidate Lasconi Advances to Final Round in Romanian Presidential Election

Romania is poised to diverge from the global trend towards hard-right politics as early exit polls suggest reformist candidate Elena Lasconi is set to secure a place in the final round of the presidential election. Lasconi is forecasted to compete in the decisive round after surpassing nationalist George Simion.

Initial exit polls indicate that Romania's current Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolacu, who is aligned with the center-left, leads the first round with 25 percent of the vote.
