Article:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to take "mirror measures" if the United States goes ahead with its plans to deploy missiles to Germany. Putin made the statement during a naval parade in Saint Petersburg, where he warned that Russia would consider itself liberated from the unilateral moratorium on medium- and short-range strike capabilities.

During his speech, Putin also revealed that the development of several systems is in its final stages. While he did not provide specific details about these systems, he emphasized that Russia will deploy them in response to the actions of the US and its allies in Europe and other parts of the world.

However, shortly after Putin's remarks, Russia clarified that it would not resume the production of intermediate-range nuclear weapons as long as the United States refrains from deploying missiles abroad. This statement from Russia suggests that they are putting the ball in the US court, implying that any further actions from the US could trigger a retaliatory response.

The tension between Russia and the US escalated earlier this month when Washington and Berlin announced their plans for "episodic deployments" of long-range US missiles, including Tomahawk cruise missiles, in Germany. These deployments are expected to begin in 2026, further heightening concerns in the region.

The US deployment plans have raised concerns among many European countries, with some fearing that it could lead to a new arms race and jeopardize the stability of the region. While the US argues that these missile deployments are necessary for deterrence purposes, Russia sees them as a direct threat to its national security.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community will closely monitor the developments between Russia and the United States. Any further actions or statements from either side could have significant implications for global security and stability.
