Lead singer of the popular rock band Puddle of Mudd, Wes Scantlin, found himself in a tense stand-off with police in Burbank, California earlier this week. The 52-year-old musician allegedly resisted arrest during a routine traffic stop, leading to a series of escalating events. According to law enforcement sources, Scantlin was pulled over in his Hummer H2 on Wednesday after committing a traffic violation. To the surprise of the Burbank police, they discovered an outstanding warrant for Scantlin's arrest in relation to a separate incident involving a weapon at an airport.

When officers approached Scantlin and requested him to exit the vehicle, the singer reportedly refused, escalating the situation. In response, the police called in a crisis negotiator to assist in resolving the stand-off peacefully. However, Scantlin allegedly continued to resist, resulting in officers resorting to using pepper spray to subdue him. As the situation intensified, SWAT team members were compelled to break the window of Scantlin's car and employ "non-lethal" pepper balls in efforts to persuade him to surrender.

Following the conclusion of the incident, Scantlin was taken to a nearby hospital to flush out his eyes, as he had been pepper-sprayed during the altercation. TMZ reports that Scantlin is now in stable condition. Subsequently, the "Stoned" singer was taken into custody for his outstanding warrant and charged with resisting arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 20. At the time of writing, Scantlin has not issued a statement regarding the recent events.

This is not the first time Scantlin has encountered legal issues. In 2012, he was arrested following an altercation with a flight attendant, and in August 2015, he faced his second DUI charge within a month, which also included a possession of marijuana charge.
