Police Release Surveillance Images of Attacker in Horrifying Bronx Incident

Images obtained by the police have been released, revealing the face of the masked assailant responsible for a disturbing attack in the Bronx. The incident, which took place on May 1, involved the suspect throwing a belt around a woman's neck from behind, dragging her between two cars, and sexually assaulting her.
After an extensive search for additional surveillance footage, authorities uncovered images of the suspect without the white towel covering his face during the late-night assault. The still photos depict him wearing a GAP sweatshirt at the time of the attack, providing crucial information for the ongoing investigation.
The 45-year-old victim was walking on a sidewalk near the intersection of E. 152nd St. and Third Ave. in the South Bronx at around 3 a.m. when the suspect approached her. Video footage obtained by the Daily News shows the assailant using his belt as a makeshift lasso, forcefully yanking the victim to the ground. Despite her desperate attempts to free herself, the attacker dragged her along the sidewalk.
Subsequently, the aggressor pulled the woman between two parked cars, resulting in her losing consciousness, according to the police. Disturbing footage reveals the suspect repeatedly bending over her while surveying the area, before proceeding to sexually assault her. After the assault, the suspect fled the scene and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
The victim, displaying remarkable resilience, managed to transport herself to Lincoln Hospital, where she received medical treatment and was later released. The NYPD's Special Victims Unit has taken charge of the investigation, aiming to bring justice to the victim and apprehend the suspect responsible for this heinous crime.
In an effort to gather information leading to the identification and location of the perpetrator, police have released surveillance images of the individual dubbed "the sinister strangler." Described as a Black male with a thin build, standing about 5-foot-9 in height, the attacker was seen wearing a white towel over his head, a GAP sweatshirt, white sweatpants, and black, red, and white sneakers during the attack.
