Minnesota Vikings' Jordan Addison Arrested for DUI in Los Angeles

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested on Friday night after being found asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was blocking traffic near Los Angeles International Airport, according to authorities. The arrest report released by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that they received an alert at approximately 11:06 p.m. about a disabled vehicle obstructing traffic on the westbound 105 Freeway to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard.

When an officer arrived at the scene, they discovered a white Rolls-Royce stopped in one of the lanes with Addison, the driver, asleep behind the wheel. After conducting a DUI investigation, the CHP arrested Addison, who played for USC during the 2022 season, on suspicion of driving under the influence at around 11:36 p.m. He was subsequently released at 1:36 a.m. on Saturday.

In response to the incident, the Vikings issued a statement on Sunday, acknowledging Addison's arrest and stating that they are currently gathering more information regarding the situation. No further details regarding the incident have been provided at this time.

Addison, who began his football career at Tuscarora High in Frederick, Md., went on to play for the University of Pittsburgh before transferring to USC for his junior year. During his sophomore year in 2021, he received the prestigious Fred Biletnikoff Award for being the country's best receiver, having caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.

After being selected by the Vikings as the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 draft, Addison played in every game of the season and finished with impressive statistics, including 70 receptions for 911 yards and a team-leading 10 receiving touchdowns.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Addison has encountered legal trouble related to driving. In July of last year, he was cited for driving at a speed of 140 mph in a 55-mph zone on Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minn. He later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge, paid a fine, and had his license suspended for six months.

As the investigation into Addison's recent DUI arrest continues, the Vikings organization will await further information before making any additional statements or decisions regarding his status with the team.
