**Michael Moore Urges Biden to Enact Liberal Policies Before Leaving Office**
Filmmaker Michael Moore has called on President Joe Biden to use his final days in office to implement a series of progressive policies. In a recent statement, Moore emphasized that Biden still has significant power and the freedom to make impactful changes without the pressure of re-election.
"Some people are now calling you a 'lame duck' president, but then it occurred to me today: You're not done," Moore wrote, encouraging Biden to leverage his remaining 100 days in office. He argued that Biden is in a unique position where he doesn't have to campaign for anything and can act decisively.
Moore, known for documentaries like "Fahrenheit 9/11," highlighted the Supreme Court ruling from July that granted the president immunity from prosecution for official acts, suggesting this has enhanced Biden's executive power. "The Supreme Court has just granted you super powers - AND immunity!" he stated.
The filmmaker presented a list of 13 policy suggestions for Biden to consider, including the forgiveness of all student loan debt and medical debt for Americans. Moore also criticized U.S. involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict, urging Biden to stop funding what he termed a "genocide" and directly calling out Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"How many violations of red lines will it take until you've had enough?" Moore questioned, referencing Netanyahu's actions and his speeches at the White House.
Beyond foreign policy, Moore also addressed criminal justice reform, calling for the elimination of the death penalty and the emptying of federal death row.
Previously, Moore had suggested that Biden should step aside in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming election. Recently, he expressed surprise that many Democrats are anxious about the 2024 presidential race, acknowledging the widespread belief that former President Donald Trump could make a successful comeback.
"Democrats, they're such a frightened group of people," Moore mentioned in a CNN interview, reflecting on the party's concerns about the future.
Moore's passionate appeal underscores a desire among some progressives to see bold actions before Biden's term comes to an end.
