A manhunt has been launched to apprehend Stacy Lee Drake, a 50-year-old Alabama man, in connection with four murders spanning two states. Authorities are seeking Drake for three homicides in Oklahoma and one in Alabama, according to reports released on Wednesday.
Drake, originally from Birmingham, has been described as homeless in Alabama court records, with a previous residence in Arizona. Details surrounding the crimes remain unclear, but it was reported that a double homicide occurred in Gans, Oklahoma, prompting a swift response from the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Upon arriving at the scene near State Highway 64 and South 4670 Road, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and woman inside a business. State authorities confirmed that both victims sustained injuries consistent with homicide, withholding further details at this time. Additionally, three more individuals lost their lives during two separate carjackings, with the circumstances of the third homicide yet to be disclosed.
Law enforcement agencies have stated that Drake is not only wanted for murder but also faces multiple felony warrants from various jurisdictions, including charges of aggravated robbery and carjacking. During one of the carjackings, Drake reportedly took a vehicle, which was later found at a hotel in Morrilton, Arkansas on Tuesday night.
Morrilton police revealed that video footage captured Drake in the hotel's parking lot. However, despite conducting an extensive search of the premises, law enforcement failed to locate the wanted fugitive. It was also highlighted that an active warrant for homicide has been issued for Drake in Alabama, though specific details regarding the location of the alleged crime were not immediately released.
Authorities have emphasized that Drake should be considered armed and dangerous. Described as a white male with brown hair and eyes, standing at 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, his whereabouts remain unknown. The public has been urged to come forward with any information that could assist in locating Drake by contacting the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov.
As the manhunt intensifies, law enforcement agencies from multiple states are collaborating to bring Drake to justice and ensure the safety of the affected communities.
