### Man Arrested at JFK Airport for Palm Springs Car Bombing

Authorities have apprehended a man in connection with the car bombing that occurred last month outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California. Daniel Park, a 32-year-old resident of Kent, Washington, was taken into custody at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport on Tuesday night. Park allegedly supplied 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate, a key component in homemade explosives, to Guy Edward Bartkus.

Park made a brief court appearance in New York on Wednesday, facing charges of providing material support to terrorists. He is expected to be extradited to California. Officials state that Bartkus orchestrated the explosion on May 17, which injured four people and resulted in his own death. According to the FBI, the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic was specifically targeted in this act described as "intentional terrorism."

Bartkus, a 25-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms, loaded his 2010 silver Ford Fusion with explosives and drove approximately an hour to Palm Springs, where the explosion took place. The impact of the blast was felt more than a mile away and caused significant damage to several buildings, including the fertility clinic.

During a news conference on Wednesday, US Attorney Bill Essayli explained that Park and Bartkus had conducted experiments together in Bartkus' garage. After the explosion, Park traveled to Denmark and Poland before being detained by Polish authorities and returned to the United States.

Appearing in court with a bandaged right hand and wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with "Fight Like Ukrainians," Park waived his rights to a detention hearing and acknowledged the charges against him. He was subsequently taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Akil Davis, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles field office, revealed that Park possessed an explosive recipe similar to that used in the Oklahoma City bombing. Authorities noted that Park and Bartkus were involved in the anti-natalist movement, also known as pro-mortalism or efilism.

Describing the fertility clinic site as "the largest bombing scene" the FBI had encountered in Southern California in recent memory, Davis emphasized the severity of the incident. The American Reproductive Centers, Coachella Valley’s first full-service fertility clinic, experienced considerable structural damage, including a destroyed wall. The clinic provides various services, including fertility evaluations, IVF, egg donation and freezing, reproductive support for same-sex couples, and surrogacy.
