The 6-foot-6 guard officially committed to the Wildcats on Wednesday, choosing Kentucky over renowned programs such as UConn, Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina.

Brea, who spent all four of his college seasons at Dayton, will bring his talent and experience to the Wildcats with one year of eligibility remaining. Last season, he was honored with the A-10 Sixth Man of the Year title, showcasing his ability to make an impact on the court. Averaging 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 29.1 minutes per game for the Flyers, Brea showcased his versatility.

Hailing from New York, Brea's path to Kentucky has been marked by perseverance and dedication. Despite being unranked out of high school, he has proven himself as one of the top 30 prospects to enter the transfer portal this offseason, according to On3's rankings.

Although Brea faced injuries at the start of his college career, he flourished as a sophomore, averaging 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in the 2021-22 season. His performance earned him the A-10 Sixth Man of the Year award for the first time. In his junior season, despite facing some setbacks due to injuries and illness, Brea remained a key contributor to Dayton's success, playing in 28 games and making 10 starts.

This past season, Brea showcased his prowess as one of the nation's top outside shooters. A remarkable 72.2 true shooting percentage, the second-highest in the country, solidified his reputation as a sharpshooter. Out of his 246 shots during the season, 201 of them were from long-range, with Brea making an impressive 49.8 percent of his three-point attempts. Additionally, he maintained an overall shooting percentage of 51.2 percent from the field.
