Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel offered a scathing critique of former congressman Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump's pick for the next attorney general. Kimmel didn't mince words on his show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday night, referring to Gaetz as "Caucasian Diddy" amid ongoing allegations of sexual misconduct.

Matt Gaetz, soon to be a former representative from Florida, has gained a controversial reputation, making his selection as the nation's chief law enforcement officer by Trump particularly contentious. Gaetz has faced several public investigations, including a Justice Department inquiry into alleged ties to a sex trafficking scandal. While Gaetz maintained his innocence and the investigation ended without charges, the controversy has not fully subsided.

In addition to the Justice Department probe, Gaetz is also under scrutiny by the House Ethics Committee. The committee is looking into allegations of statutory rape and other sexual misconduct, and it is expected to meet on Wednesday to discuss whether the findings should be made public. Leaks have suggested that two women testified they were paid to cross state lines and engage in sexual activities with Gaetz on multiple occasions—claims he has vehemently denied.

The House Ethics Committee’s findings on Gaetz remain a focal point of discussion, with Kimmel urging GOP leaders, specifically Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, to release the report. "Somebody needs to put Mike Johnson back in the tree he lives in and release that report because the spinelessness it is staggering," Kimmel quipped, underscoring his disappointment with the handling of the situation.
