**Israeli Airstrikes Target Hezbollah Sites in Syria for Second Consecutive Day**
For the second consecutive day, Israeli warplanes have launched airstrikes targeting sites in Syria, aiming to disrupt the transfer of weapons and intelligence from Iran to Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group. The Israeli military disclosed on Tuesday that these operations specifically targeted weapons storage facilities utilized by Hezbollah's munitions unit in Al Qusayr, near the Lebanese border.
This marks the third time within a week that Israel has publicly acknowledged attacks inside Syrian territory. According to the Israeli military, Hezbollah has recently expanded its operations in Syria, deliberately placing weapons infrastructure within civilian areas to shield them from attacks.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based organization monitoring the conflict in Syria, reported that Israeli jets struck multiple warehouses in and near Al Qusayr, with seven explosions heard in the industrial city. Thus far, there have been no immediate reports of casualties.
Just last week, Israel similarly targeted Hezbollah's weapons storage and command facilities in Al Qusayr, an effort to curtail the flow of arms from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon. Similarly, Monday's airstrikes focused on a branch of Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that these strikes hit three farms previously used as camps by members of Hezbollah and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
These intensified military actions by Israel underline its broader strategy to diminish Hezbollah's operational capabilities in Syria, thereby reducing the group's influence and reach into neighboring Lebanon.
