### Houston Man Arrested for Alleged ISIS-Linked Terror Plot

A Houston man is facing serious accusations of planning a terrorist attack in the city and attempting to provide support to ISIS, as revealed by the FBI. Anas Said, a 28-year-old resident, was arrested last week, according to officials, and is being held under allegations of plotting a terror attack from his apartment in far west Houston.

Authorities stated that Said had admitted to various concerning activities, including researching attacks on local military recruiting centers and expressing a willingness to shelter ISIS operatives in his home. He reportedly boasted about his intentions to execute a large-scale "9/11-style" attack if he had the means to do so.

The FBI shared that Said was responsible for creating five videos and two images intended to be used as ISIS propaganda. Said's radicalization reportedly surged following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas against Israel.

"Today is a great day. We've taken a suspected terrorist off the streets of Houston," said Douglas Williams, the FBI Houston Special Agent in Charge. According to Williams, Said has been under surveillance by the FBI Houston Joint Terrorist Task Force since 2017.

Said was apprehended on Nov. 8. In an attempt to destroy evidence, he threw his cellular phone on the ground to break it just before his arrest. Although Said was born in Houston, he spent a significant part of his childhood and early adult life in Lebanon, living there until 2014.

If convicted, Said could face up to 20 years in prison. The FBI made the announcement about his arrest and the foiled terrorist plot during a press conference held on Thursday morning.
